The Old Podcast

Long ago in the data of The Internet Archive lies my podcast. I was insane and did it 3 times a week for a while. It was my first time reviewing or talking about anime and manga outside of, “Oh mans, I wanna draw manga! Let read it on the Borders floor! Look at my anime purple hair!” Needless to say, I had to grow the beard and it took a while.

Wanted or not this is a part of my fandom history. I’m as proud of it as a mother  who watched it’s bastard drug induced whore offspring grow to be a community college graduate in a polo shirt. I grew and got better, and I hope to do so on this blog.

So, if you dare, take a listen to all the reviews, news and crazy shows in order from latest and first.

1. Beat Up the Angel – I reviewed Angel Beats and talk about my fujoshi-ism.

2. Confidential Confessions Sounds Emo – I use the word shockatude and emo. A lot.

3. The Last Genshiken – This is on the best of Otagal list if I made one. Reviewing Genshiken 2 with the only bigger fan of it than myself, Carl of Ogiue Maniax.

4. Otakon 2010 part 1 and part 2 – Viga with recurring guest Froborr talks Otakon. Lots of con whining and anger involved with card games on motorcycles.

5. Relaxacons, Questions and Bleach Bitches – T-Mode: the small con that could. I talk about that and Bleach apparently.

6. K-Oh No Way – Ewwwwww. Good music though.

7. Anime USA 2009 – I really don’t remember what happened that con. A sign?

8. Chasing Sadako – A Kimi ni Todoke review.

9. It’s Anime Boston Time! – Exactly what it says on the tin. Hmm. I wonder if I could put a TVtrope in every description of an episode.

10. Ponyo Gave Me My Childhood – Miyazaki’s cloudcuckoolander mermaid film.

11. Otakon 2009 preshow part 1, part 2 and part 3 – Fanboy. Fangirl. Fun.

12. Anime Boston 2009 with Neito – My Boston friend and I chat AB.

13. Girls Around The World IN COMICS part A! – There is no part b so you know. I review Gokinjo Monogatari.

14. Gone Anime News by Gone – Outdated anime news by yours truly.

15. Girls Talking – All of Lucky Star was just girls talking! So was the manga Just a Girl. There’s a girl talking about both in this episode.

16. Anime Weekly News with Ponyo and Nooooo – I, don’t know what I was doing. There’s outdated news here.

17. Hellish Zombie Bite – Reiko the Zombie Shop and Hell Girl gets the Viga treatment.

18. Anime Weekly News with Best Buy and Feedback – Remember when Best Buy cut back on anime. Pepperidge Farm remembers.

19. Ours and the Otaku Bastard Child – Note: One of these things I’m reviewing, I still think is amazing. Guess which one. By the way. Watch Bokurano!

20. Katsucon 2009 part 1 and part 2 – Gah, another con I have to listen to the episode to remember what I did. Don’t drink kids.

21. Dream to Be It! Dream to BLOW IT UP! – I talk about the Idol Project OVA and the manga X-Day. Both deal with dreams and fulling them in very different ways.

22. Marriage and the Best of 08 – I review the OVA Marriage and talk about my favorites reviews in 2008.

23. Slayers with Froborr – Froborr talks about his first anime first love, Slayers Lina Inverse. But really we just review it. If I remember correctly we sing as well.

24. Hentai 5: If I was Invisible – I would just watch you in your room… I review Invisible Stud.

25. Schadenfreude – I have taken pleasure in the pain in The Aromatic Bitters.

26. Othello: The Complete Manga – Most people downloaded this review because they thought it was a scanlation download. Fun fact: the scan I’ve seen floating online is just a scan of the official US release. Not cool fandom.

27. It’s a Secret – I talk about Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu.

28. Man Eyebrows aka Boom Boom – I review the manga B.B. Explosion. Why does everyone have big eyebrows!

29. AIC, what did you do to Sasami! – Don’t watch the Pretty Sammy OVA’s

30. Anime USA and Small Press Expo 2008 – I try a non anime convention by going to the indie comic con Small Press Expo. Also, Anime USA.

31. Live from Anime USA: Viga and Tee – A recorded panel with Tee Moris of podcaster fame. No one records a panel like Gaston!

32. Japanese Butt Rock and Shirow’s Embarrassing Early Career - I got kidnapped by pirates so Jeremy at Destroy all Podcasts DX took over.

33. Chibi 2: Hentai and Gackt – I got nothing to say about this.

34. Talk Like A Pirate Day: The Awesome Holiday – I like pirates.

35. Chibi 1: Miku Hatsune – I talk about Miku. These chibi episode are basically shorts.

36. T-Mode 2008 aka Viga is Wrong – I was wrong.

37. Bloopers and Outtakes - Exactly what it says on the tin.

38. Just Yuri Already - Miyuki-chan in Wonderland is a tease.

39. Yeeeeeehaaaaaaw - Early Reins review. Eh.

40. Anime Radio 90.1 – A music show with just 90′s anime music. Another best of Otagal.

41. Light – I review vol. 1 and 2 of With the Light: Raising an Autistic Child.

42. My Name is Ogiue and I Hate Otaku – The Genshiken OVA review. If you know me, you know what I’m gonna say.

43. The Otakon Show preshow and report part 1, part 2 and part 3 – Otakon 2008 report. This was the con of Jam Project. I want to return to this time.

44. News, Abba and Sex is Forgiveness part A and Part B – It was a mish mash episode of stuff with a review of A Wind Called Amnesia.

45. Top Ten AMV’s – My top ten AMV’s

46. How to Join Aoi House – My feelings changed a lot on this.

47.  Taking a Peek – I do a first impression look at some anime. Tower of Druaga was such a lie!

48. Anime News Viga – Outdated news.

49. Go Super Gals! Go Otagal! – This is on the best of list. It’s a review of Super Gals. I need a re-review of this because once I read the manga I changed my opinion.

50. 91st Episode Unspectacular – I thought it would be so hilarious to do a milestone episode at a weird number. So hilarious.

51. Re:Play it again – A review of Re:Play vol 2. I don’t think I ever reviewed the third on the podcast, but it was sorta meh.

52. Argh – I really can’t say what in this one. It was a filler. Mystery episode.

53. My Last Words – The Blog Like Its The End of The World special. A zombie holiday.

54. I Want Candy – This is probably one of the worst titles I ever thought of. Seriously, a song reference. Almost as bad and the pun-derful antics of ANNcast.

55. The Tokyopop Show – If this show was made recently, The Tokyopop Show would be Stu Levy Dumbass Fest and reasoning of why the company went under. Perhaps even some vitriol over the loss of Warau Kanoko Sama being legally available.

56. Filler 12: SLAYER! – SLAYER!

57. Filler 11: Rozen Madien is Creepy – It fucking is. I hate porcelain dolls.

58. Who The Hell Do You THINK I AM!- Gurren Lagann is still my favorite anime series. I have a shelf full of goods, a phone full of songs and did many a panel on it. This episode also has a guest, Neito.

59. Music for the Geeky Geeks 3 - I show how much I am a nerd with my filk love.

60. Resentment – I review all what was out at the time of Ressentiment. The darkest of otaku manga.

61. A Sorta Filler: Nico Nico – I can honestly say I don’t know what you’ll get in this. I’m gonna guess and think it’s about Nico Nico that now has an english site.

62. It’s A Gundam – The Gundam episode.

63. Catching Up On Crap – outdated news.

64. Filler 10: Duo – I talk about my first anime crush. This is so waifu.

65. This is Otakudom! Not a Spart Joke! – Let me explain the title. This is Otakudom was made in 2001 well before 300. At the time when you would start a sentence with “This is…” people would respond “SPARTA!” Anyway, watch this fan parody.

66. I Am the Student and the Shopkeeper - I review I’ Otaku: Stuggle in Akihabara.

67. This is Not Eva – An Eureka Seven review. Fun Fact: Dai Sato hated the fact that people would write this off at first site for being an Eva clone. It is NOT! Also, has character designs by Kenichi Yoshida, who’s work you can also see in Overman King Gainer!

68. Happy Spring Special Part one and two- I try to watch EVERY new anime of spring 2008. That was hard.

69. J-Food - A Japanese food episode.

70. Scott Pilgrim’s Podcast of Epicness – I review 1 – 4 of Scott Pilgrim. It’s good stuff although it’s not manga.

71. The Post Office of the Dead - A Shigofumi review. It’s a series I need to watch again.

72. Anime in Print – Anime Magazines. You can only buy Otaku USA at this point. Is Protoculture still being made?!

73. Staying Together with a Metalhead – They translated whatever visual kei was called into metalhead in Tomoko’s manga.

74. 5cm till Tears – 5cm Per Second is still a favorite of mine.

75. NHK is Educational – Welcome to the NHK vol 3. I have to re-read this entire series. I remember hating the turn out though. Will I still. I don’t know.

76.
